TA-65

The "TA65" pill is promoted as a product capable of lengthening a small structure located at the end of chromosomes called telomeres. Prestigious research groups have been studying these structures for years because their role is key in two major challenges of medical science: cancer and aging. It is known that the shorter the telomeres, the greater the risk of disease.

"TA65" is born from research on the telomerase enzyme that acts on telomeres. The active ingredient of this herbal product that is a success in anti-aging clinics has been isolated from a plant called "Astragalus membranaceus", consisting of a telomerase activator molecule used in traditional Chinese medicine. Telomeres are the final part of our chromosomes, composed of DNA that does not encode genes, and which shorten with the passage of time, diseases, stress, obesity, and lack of exercise, among others.

There are 30 trillion cells in the human body, and each one has 23 chromosomes which, in turn, each has DNA, that double helix structure that contains our genetic information and is made of proteins. The information contained in DNA is what characterizes each of us, and that information is passed on from parents to children (genetics). One generation can determine factors such as skin color, height, and eye color, and another "takes charge" of determining the proneness to diseases.

In youth, the body repairs itself at a much faster rate than it destroys itself. Once adulthood is reached, a balance occurs: the state of health directly influences the destruction or elimination of damaged cells and the repair and proliferation of new cells. Once past the reproductive phase and into middle age, the processes of destruction occur more rapidly than those of construction and repair, so the aging process is accentuated.

How TA-65® works

Telomeres are specialized structures located at each end of the chromosome and their main functions are to prevent the cell from DNA damage caused by breaks that occur in this area. In short, telomeres protect chromosomes from the degeneration they are bound to suffer gradually in terms of inflammation, cell division, and oxidative damage.

On the other hand, we have an enzyme that maintains the length of telomeres: telomerase. This makes pretty evident the role it has in the effects of aging because this enzyme can preserve the length of telomeres.

In the process of cell division, each cell replicates DNA and that includes the telomere sequences, which become shorter because the entire sequence cannot be copied and therefore some of that DNA is lost. When it becomes too short, the cell becomes unable to divide and dies: this is why we age.

This is when TA-65® plays its role: this compound activates telomerase.
